Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Nigeria on Saturday, November 17, 2024. This will be the first visit of an Indian Prime Minister to Nigeria in 17 years, with the last visit being in 2007 by Dr. Manmohan Singh.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu invited Prime Minister Modi to visit Nigeria, and the purpose of the visit is to strengthen the strategic partnership between the two countries. The two leaders will have bilateral discussions and exchange signed Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) to enhance collaboration in critical sectors.
During the visit, Prime Minister Modi will be hosted by President Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja. The visit is significant as it marks a new chapter in the relations between the two countries. India and Nigeria have a long-standing relationship, with India being one of Nigeria's largest trading partners.
