Former Vice President Namadi Sambo has defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC), in the midst of the current crisis within the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Sambo, who served as Vice President under President Goodluck Jonathan from 2010 to 2015, was formally received into the APC on Wednesday by the governor of Kaduna State, Senator Uba Sani at the Sir Kashim Ibrahim Government House in Kaduna.
Sambo’s exit is part of a larger trend of notable PDP members resigning, which has seen several senators, members of the National Assembly, and state leaders switch allegiance to the ruling APC in recent months.
The trend stems from the PDP's internal bickering and leadership impasse and dispute.
