Chief Stanley Osifo, the lone challenger to President Bola Tinubu at the All Progressives Congress presidential primary, says he recognises the immense weight of the mandate being carried by the President.
Osifo said this in a congratulatory message marking the third anniversary of Tinubu’s administration.
The APC chieftain acknowledged the demands and responsibilities associated with leading the country at a challenging period marked by economic reforms, security concerns, and national development aspirations.
“I felicitate with you on your 3rd anniversary as President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
“Three years of leadership marked by conscientious economic decisions and pursuit of national development deserve to be acknowledged,” Osifo said.
He noted that as an APC stakeholder and one who recently sought the same office, he understood the burden and expectations that accompany the nation’s highest political position.
“As a fellow APC stakeholder who recently aspired to this same office, I recognise the enormous weight of the mandate you carry.
“I remain fully committed to supporting your vision of a prosperous, secure and united Nigeria,” he stated.
Osifo added that despite differing political aspirations during the APC presidential primary, the collective interest of the party and the country remained paramount.
According to him, national unity, economic growth, and sustainable development should continue to guide political leaders and stakeholders across party lines.
“May Almighty God grant you the wisdom, health, and strength to bring this great nation to its fullest potential.
“Congratulations, Mr President,” Osifo added.
President Tinubu recently emerged as the APC presidential candidate for the 2027 election after defeating Osifo at the party’s primary.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that Tinubu was inaugurated as President on May 29, 2023, taking over from the late President Muhammadu Buhari.
