The Federal Government of Nigeria has declared Tuesday, July 15, 2025, a public holiday to honor the late former President Muhammadu Buhari.
This declaration, made by the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, on behalf of the Federal Government, follows the seven-day period of national mourning announced by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Additionally, the Northwest Governors Forum has also declared Tuesday, July 15, 2025, a public holiday across all seven states in the region, reflecting their profound grief and respect for the former president.
