Despite experiencing brief technical glitches, including a mini power outage, Reality TV star Natacha Akide, popularly known as Tacha, has continued her Guinness World Record attempt for the most makeovers done in 24 hours.
Newsmen observed that there were two power outages in the studio section of the John Randle Centre for Yorùbá Culture & History, Lagos, where the challenge is ongoing.
The incident occurred barely an hour into the session, causing early tension among organisers and participants.
While the main venue was not completely blacked out, the temporary disruption affected lighting within the makeup area.
Camera and LED lights were used to stabilise visibility during the interruption.
The official timer, however, continued running throughout the outage, suggesting it was powered by a separate source.
Although the situation drew concern from some members of the audience, Tacha remained focused and continued with the session.
Models who had already been made up were seen walking the runway in turns as part of the beauty showcase. Our correspondent observed that the reality star maintained a brisk pace, completing makeovers efficiently without heavy contouring or lengthy detailing.
After each makeover, the models proceeded to a photography booth where their headshots were captured and displayed on a screen before they walked the runway.
From petite to plus-size, the 150 models featured in the challenge represented diverse body types, all showcasing Tacha’s evolving artistry and precision under pressure.
Having completed makeovers on about 15 models within the first hour, observers suggested she could finish all 150 before the 24-hour deadline, if she maintains her current pace.
The attempt, which forms part of her ongoing Tacha Beauty Festival, is scheduled to run for 24 hours and conclude on Sunday, after which the results will be submitted to Guinness World Records for official verification.
