Former Arsenal and Liverpool winger Jermaine Pennant has joined the Chelsea legend John Obi Mikel pressing the Blues to sign the Nigerian striker.
While the Blues were interested in Osimhen last summer, they were not able to secure a deal. Pennant made it clear that Chelsea should do everything possible to bring Osimhen to Stamford Bridge, this was said on talkSPORT.
When asked if signing Osimhen would make Chelsea title contenders, Pennant replied, “Without a shadow of a doubt. He knows how to score. His numbers are frightening. They were great at Napoli.
We see how often Jackson gets chances, but his conversion rate isn’t great. He can have three or four clear-cut chances and miss them all, leaving you scratching your head, wondering how Chelsea ended up with a draw or a loss. Someone like Osimhen, if he finds a goal, will only boost Chelsea or any team.”
A Chelsea legend, former Super Eagles captain John Mikel Obi in his own right, previously stated that Osimhen would be a game-changer for the Blues, and Pennant’s endorsement only adds more weight to the argument.
