A fire outbreak occurred in Ilorin, Kwara State, resulting in significant destruction. The incident took place in the Ita-Amodu area on Old Yidi Road, where a truck carrying mattresses came into contact with a high-tension electric cable. This contact sparked a fire, which quickly spread due to the highly flammable nature of the mattresses.

The fire rapidly escalated, fueled by the explosion of a nearby step-down transformer. As a result, seven shops and 16 rooms were completely destroyed, with property worth millions of naira lost in the blaze. The fire outbreak has caused significant devastation, and the cause of the accident is currently being investigated.

Fortunately, no casualties have been reported, and emergency services responded promptly to contain the fire. However, the incident highlights the importance of ensuring that vehicles are properly maintained and that drivers exercise caution when navigating areas with overhead power lines. It also emphasizes the need for adequate fire safety measures to prevent such incidents in the future.
