President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has returned to Nigeria following a two-nation visit to Saint Lucia and Brazil.
His return was confirmed by his spokesperson, Bayo Onanuga, via a post on X on Saturday, July 12, 2025.

President Tinubu's journey began on June 28, 2025, when he departed Abuja for Saint Lucia, where he spent four days. During his stay, he engaged in discussions with Governor-General Cyril Charles and Prime Minister Philip J. Pierre.
A highlight of his visit was addressing a special joint sitting of the Saint Lucian Parliament.
He also signed a Technical Manpower Assistance agreement, which will facilitate the deployment of Nigerian professionals, including teachers, doctors, and engineers, to support capacity-building initiatives in Saint Lucia and other OECS member states.

Following his visit to Saint Lucia, President Tinubu traveled to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, to represent Nigeria at the 17th BRICS Summit, held from July 5 to 7, 2025.

Speaking at the summit on Saturday, July 6, 2025, President Tinubu advocated for a comprehensive reevaluation of the existing global governance structure and the world's financial and healthcare systems.

He underscored the critical need for increased equity, inclusion, and justice, particularly for low-income and emerging economies, with a special focus on African nations.

The President further stressed that global challenges such as environmental degradation, the climate crisis, and profound healthcare inequalities are impeding development and necessitate collaborative and equitable strategies for their resolution.
