PSG Confirm Signing of Super Falcons Star Rasheedat Ajibade
French giants Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) have officially announced the signing of Super Falcons forward Rasheedat Ajibade on a two-year contract.
Ajibade, who recently captained Nigeria to victory at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), joins PSG after leaving Spanish side Atlético de Madrid at the end of last season.
“I’m deeply honoured to be joining Paris Saint-Germain, a top-drawer club in Europe. This is a major step for me, and I’m committed to giving my all to help PSG win titles and to inspire young footballers, be they in Nigeria or elsewhere,” Ajibade said after completing the move.
The 24-year-old attacker was one of the standout players at WAFCON 2024, where she was named Player of the Tournament as Nigeria clinched a record 10th continental crown. She scored once and provided two assists during the competition.
At PSG, Ajibade will team up with fellow Nigerian Jennifer Echegini, as the club looks to reclaim the French Ligue 1 Féminine title, last won in 2021.
