Kenneth Okonkwo, a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress, ADC has spoken against the recent attack on supporters of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, in Enugu State.

In a post on his official X handle, Okonkwo strongly encouraged the authorities to hold the attackers accountable to prevent the prevalence of anarchy.

Recall that unknown thugs attacked NDC supporters who had gone to welcome their governorship candidate at the Akanu Ibiam International Airport in Enugu, which eventually led to the death of one person.

Okonkwo clearly said that the attack on the members of the NDC in Enugu State by political thugs allegedly sponsored by the APC clearly reveals the party’s desperation to take charge and full control at all costs in 2027.

Furthermore, he encouraged Nigerians, especially indigenes of Enugu State, to rise up and fight against the menace of electoral violence in the state to ensure that everyone is allowed to vote and that votes are allowed to count.

“The disruption of the NDC rally in Enugu State, which was scheduled to welcome its governorship candidate, Chinyeaka Oha, at the Akanu Ibiam International Airport in Enugu, and which resulted in the death of some NDC supporters, is deplorable.

“The security agencies must thoroughly Kthis incident with a view to arresting the culprits and punishing them commensurately.

“Hold attackers accountable or face anarchy. Anarchy prevails when security agencies fail, refuse or neglect to hold violent attackers accountable for their actions,” he said.
