The Nigerian Police Force has taken swift and decisive action against officers accused of extortion. The officers involved in the alleged N3 million extortion from Liberty Isaac and his friends have been arrested and ordered to report to the Force Headquarters for further investigation and possible disciplinary action.

This move reinforces the commitment of the Nigerian Police Force to addressing misconduct and ensuring justice for all victims of police brutality and extortion. The Force is taking concrete steps to sanitize its ranks and promote a culture of accountability and respect for human rights.

Liberty Isaac, a Ghana-based Nigerian, had appealed to the Inspector General of Police to fish out the policemen who allegedly extorted N3 million from him at gunpoint. Isaac alleged that the policemen accosted him and his friends at Udi axis in Bayelsa State, manhandled him, and threatened to shoot him before forcing him to transfer N3 million to them.

The swift action taken by the Nigerian Police Force is a positive step towards addressing the issue of police misconduct and extortion. It sends a strong message that such behavior will not be tolerated and that justice will be served.
