A US tech company, Astronomer, has placed its CEO, Andy Byron, on leave after a video of him (rumored) embracing a woman at a Coldplay concert went viral.
The clip, shown on a big screen at Gillette Stadium, depicted two individuals abruptly hiding when their faces appeared.
Chris Martin, Coldplay's lead singer, commented on their shyness, fueling rumors of an affair.
The video, which initially gained millions of views on TikTok, quickly spread across social media, becoming a meme and a topic of discussion on TV.
Two days later, Astronomer announced a formal investigation into the matter, emphasizing its commitment to company values and accountability for its leaders.
Pete DeJoy, Co-founder and Chief Product Officer, has been appointed interim CEO.
While the man in the video is widely rumored to be Andy Byron and the woman identified online as Kristin Cabot (Chief People Officer), neither has confirmed their identity.
Astronomer has also stated that reports of a personal statement from Mr. Byron are false and that no other employees were in the video.
