The federal government has announced and given four-day public holiday for Eidul-Azha, scheduled to begin on Friday, 6th of June, and will run through to Monday, 9th of June.

This was declared by the Prime Minister, who approved and then affirmed that during the holidays, all government and private offices, educational institutions, and banks nationwide will stay closed.

The decision was made in line with the celebration of Eidul Azha, which is a major religious festival in Pakistan.

The announcement came after the moon was sighted on the 27th of May by Ruet-e-Hilal Committee.
Chairman Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad said that the first day of Eidul Azha will be celebrated across Pakistan on June 7.

Eidul Azha commemorates the culmination of the Hajj which is one of the five pillars of Islam and should be undertaken by every Muslim who can afford it.
