The National Association of Telecommunication Subscribers (NATCOMS) have clearly said that they strongly oppose the proposal by the Nigerian Communication Commissions (NCC) to allow an increase of 40%  in the Telecommunication tariffs.
The NATCOMS cites the alleged action as "Apathetic" to the economic burden faced in the country, Nigeria.

NATCOMS states that the proposed hike will increase the cost of voice call from N11 to N15.40 per minute, text message from N4 to N5.60 and 1GB of data bundle from N1000 to N1400.

In the report, NATCOMS says that the proposed tariff raise in telecom will make telecom unaffordable for majority of subscribers.

The meeting for the impending hike in Telecommunication was held on the 31st December, 2024 by the executive council.

NATCOMS says " The association considers the decision of the NCC as inconsiderate of the interest of the telecom services consumers.
