Elon Musk’s Father Errol Musk Accused of Sexual Abuse in New Report

Errol Musk, the 79-year-old father of tech billionaire Elon Musk, has been accused of sexually abusing five of his children and stepchildren over a span of more than three decades, according to a detailed investigation by The New York Times. The allegations, some dating back to 1993, include claims of inappropriate touching, disturbing behavior, and multiple accounts of abuse within the family.

They reported that these accusations, supported by interviews, personal letters, emails, and court documents, may help explain why Elon Musk has rarely spoken publicly about his father. Family members allegedly reached out to the Tesla and SpaceX CEO for help on several occasions, prompting him to intervene privately. Despite this, Elon Musk declined to comment when contacted by the Times for the story.

The earliest accusation surfaced in 1993, when a four-year-old stepdaughter claimed Errol had touched her inappropriately at the family home. Roughly a decade later, the same stepdaughter alleged she caught him sniffing her dirty underwear. Other family members have since accused him of sexually abusing two of his daughters and a stepson.

Over the years, at least three separate law enforcement investigations were launched, based on police and court records cited by the Times. Two inquiries ended without any action taken, while the outcome of the third remains unclear. Errol Musk has consistently denied the allegations, calling them “nonsense,” “absolute rubbish,” and “false.” He suggested family members were coaching children to fabricate accusations and accused them of attempting to extort money from Elon.

In statements provided to the Times and echoed to The Guardian, Errol Musk flatly rejected the claims. He insisted there was “no evidence” and maintained that the allegations were fabricated to damage him and, by extension, Elon Musk. Errol, who has at least nine children and stepchildren from three marriages, is described in the Times report as maintaining a “powerful grip” over much of the family.

Though Elon Musk has not responded directly to these latest allegations, he has previously spoken about his strained relationship with his father. In a 2017 profile with Rolling Stone, Musk described Errol as a man capable of “almost every evil thing you could possibly think of.” Recalling his childhood decision to live with his father at age 10, while his siblings Kimbal and Tosca stayed with their mother, Elon said he initially felt pity for Errol’s loneliness. But he later regretted the decision, calling it “not a good idea.” He added cryptically, “My dad will have a carefully thought-out plan of evil. He will plan evil.”

The Times investigation paints a portrait of a deeply fractured family dynamic, with some relatives alleging years of abuse and psychological control. The report claims that Elon Musk, despite his public silence, has on several occasions been drawn into family crises when relatives turned to him for help.

As of now, no formal charges have been brought against Errol Musk, and he continues to insist that all allegations are fabricated. Still, the new report raises troubling questions about the Musk family’s private struggles, casting fresh light on the tech billionaire’s complicated and painful family history.
