The Students' Union Government (SUG) at the University of Jos has confirmed that the abductors of the medical students from the College of Health Sciences have established contact with the families of the kidnapped students. The abductors are demanding a ransom of ₦50 million in exchange for the safe release of the students.

The SUG has assured that efforts are underway to address the situation, and security operatives are fully engaged in the matter. The union has urged the university community to remain calm and have faith that a peaceful resolution will be reached soon.

The situation is indeed troubling, and the SUG is working closely with the affected families, the Dean of Students' Affairs, and other stakeholders to ensure the safe release of the students. The union is hopeful that the security operatives will handle the situation effectively and bring the students back home safely.
