Wasiu Akinwande, also known as Olori Eso, has been arraigned at the Ogba Magistrate Court on an eleven-count charge. He is accused of a number of crimes, including murder and illegal possession of firearms.
The charges against him include:
1. The murder of Bankole Yusuf and Ramadan Yusuf on July 31, 2024.
2. The murder of 10-year-old Aminat Lateef on December 9, 2010.
3.The murder of five individuals, identified as Ayinla, Ojaja, and three unknown persons, on July 31, 2024, during a gang clash in the Idi-araba area of Lagos.
4. The illegal possession of a large cache of weapons, including two AK-47 rifles, a K2 assault rifle, two locally made pistols, ammunition, walkie-talkies, and a poisonous dagger.
5. Attempted murder and causing grievous harm to Awawu Ajalara, a 58-year-old woman, on February 17, 2011, by shooting her in both legs with an AK-47, which resulted in a permanent disability.
The command stated that Akinwande "freely admitted" to using the recovered weapons for "killing operations with his gang." He was tracked and arrested in the Alagbado area of Lagos.
