Oyo State government hosts Trade Fair to create opportunities and boost economic growth

The government of Oyo State,Nigeria is set to host the 2025 International Trade Fair which is tagged: EXPOYO 2025.
The main aim of the trade fair is to boost economic growth, as well as the diversity and richness of the state’s agricultural potentials.

The Commissioner for Investment, Trade, Cooperatives and Industry, Hon. Adeniyi Adebisi, who stated this, revealed that the trade fair will take place at the Permanent Trade fair Complex, Sango, Ibadan.

Adebisi hinted that the trade fair, themed: “Achieving Food Security and Economic Stability in Oyo State through massive investment in Agriculture,” is scheduled to commence from April 4th to 11th, 2025.

The commissioner said the event is organised by the Oyo State Council of Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (OYCCIMA) in partnership with the Oyo State Government.

He noted: “The government’s primary objective for EXPOYO 2025 is to promote economic growth, empower local businesses, and create opportunities for entrepreneurs. We will provide a platform for industries, small-scale industries, farmers, and professional groups to showcase their products and services.”

Adebisi stated that the 2025 edition marks yet another groundbreaking achievement in the collective journey to foster economic cooperation, strengthen industry networks, and boost business connectivity in Oyo State.

The Chairman, Planning Committee, Oyo State International Trade Fair, EXPOYO 2025, ESV. Niran Adewoyin, stated that the week-long event will kindle new ideas, establish lasting collaborations, and be a testament to the power of unity in pursuing economic transformation.

He explained that the main objective of the fair is to attract international exhibitors and investors, particularly from China and other West African countries.

The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Investment, Trade, Cooperatives and Industry, Mr Olajide Okesade, reiterated the Oyo State Government’s commitment to supporting local businesses and entrepreneurs.


He also urged Nigerian business owners and entrepreneurs to take part at the trade fair, saying it is an opportunity to network with international exhibitors, initiate new deals, and foster trade agreements that will enhance their business value chains.
