Aman to Launch First Safari Resort in Africa
Luxury hospitality brand Aman has announced the launch of its first-ever African safari resort, set to open in Mozambique’s 150,000-hectare Karingani Game Reserve. Named Aman Karingani, the property will introduce Aman’s signature philosophy of understated elegance, privacy, and world-class service to one of the continent’s most untouched wildlife sanctuaries.
Karingani Game Reserve lies in southern Mozambique, adjoining South Africa’s world-renowned Kruger National Park along an 84-kilometre border. The reserve is celebrated for its rich biodiversity, encompassing open savannahs, rolling woodlands, and seasonal wetlands that provide refuge for a wide variety of wildlife. The setting reflects Aman’s focus on destinations that remain authentic, unspoiled, and deeply connected to their natural environments.
The resort will occupy an elevated site with sweeping views of the plains and distant mountain ranges. This vantage point will allow guests to experience the vastness of Africa’s landscapes while enjoying a sense of intimacy and seclusion.

Aman Karingani will feature 30 standalone pavilions, each designed in the brand’s minimalist style to prioritize space, privacy, and harmony with nature. The one- and two-bedroom pavilions will include expansive decks and private pools, offering uninterrupted views of the wilderness.
For those seeking a deeper connection with the Aman lifestyle, a limited number of branded residences will also be available. These three- to six-bedroom homes will give owners exclusive access to Aman’s legendary service, resort amenities, and the rare chance to live amid a pristine African reserve.
The property will include signature Aman facilities:
• An outdoor infinity pool overlooking the escarpment
• A full Aman Spa, blending modern wellness with traditional African therapies
• Fine dining restaurants highlighting both international and locally inspired cuisine
Vlad Doronin, Chairman and CEO of Aman Group, described the launch as a landmark development for the brand:
“The introduction of Aman Karingani is a significant milestone for our brand as we bring Aman’s ethos of timeless elegance, unparalleled service, and profound privacy to Mozambique for the first time. Responding to the growing desire from our brand loyalists for an Aman safari retreat in Africa, the property reinforces our commitment to offering transformative experiences connected to nature.”

Doronin emphasized that Aman Karingani is not only about luxury accommodation but also about immersive, nature-based experiences that resonate with the increasing demand for conservation-focused and authentic travel.
The Mozambique project will be Aman’s second property in Africa, joining Amanjena in Marrakech, Morocco, located near the UNESCO World Heritage city. The safari resort also adds to Aman’s growing pipeline of developments worldwide, reflecting the company’s ambition to expand while staying true to its reputation for exclusivity and cultural sensitivity.
With Aman Karingani, Mozambique is poised to become a new luxury travel destination on the continent, offering visitors not only an ultra-luxury retreat but also a gateway to one of Africa’s most ecologically diverse reserves.
