Takeover discussions between Everton and the Friedkin Group have ended without an agreement. The American investors, led by billionaire Dan Friedkin, were in talks to purchase the club, but negotiations broke down, and no deal was reached. This is the second time this year that Everton has failed to secure a sale, following a previous breakdown in talks with Miami-based firm 777 Partners.

Despite the collapse of takeover talks, the Friedkin Group will remain a lender to the club. Everton will now explore alternative options with the support of the Friedkin Group. The club's majority owner, Farhad Moshiri, who owns a 94% stake, will continue to lead the club. The Friedkin Group also owns a controlling stake in Italian side Roma. The failed takeover attempt leaves Everton's future ownership structure uncertain, and the club will need to consider its next steps.
