Xabi Alonso,Chelsea head coach Alonso has confirmed Jamie Gittens will miss the Blues' Premier League clash against Bournemouth as a result of the injury sustained.

Alonso also provided the latest fitness update on Cole Palmer, Moises Caicedo, Joao Pedro, Reece James and Marco Palestra ahead of the Bournemouth match.

While he spoke at his pre-match press conference on Friday, Alonso revealed that Gittens will miss tomorrow's game after picking up an ankle injury on international duty, ruling him out for a few weeks.

“Yes, Moises Caicedo is ready to go. We have used the time with Moi to get him back fit. He has been training well, and he is okay to go.

"They [Reece James, Marco Palestra, Cole Palmer and Joao Pedro] have all been able to train, some of them earlier than others and Marco Palestra as well. That was the plan.

"Palmer has trained for the last week and has felt better. We didn’t want to rush because we had the time.”
