On Monday, an intense gun battle happened between security operatives and gunmen driving a red Highlander jeep. The security team had been trailing the gunmen since they abducted a citizen in Nnewi, and the chase led them to Nnobi.
In the crossfire, a security operative was tragically struck by a bullet and killed. Unfortunately, the hoodlums' reckless shooting also claimed the lives of two innocent bystanders who were caught in the line of fire.
The police response team quickly arrived at the scene and transported the victims to the hospital. Sadly, three people, including a young woman of 22 years, were pronounced dead by the medical staff. Two others are currently receiving medical treatment for their injuries.
