The Oyo State Government has commenced a major road rehabilitation project in key areas of Ibadan, the state capital.
This project is to improve transportation infrastructure and improve mobility.
The roads under rehabilitation include Agbowo Road, Eleyele-Water Road, Bashorun Oluwo-nla road and Zion Plaza-Olusoji Road.
The projects are intended to be completed within eight weeks, following the statement signed by Hon. Busoye Ogunlade, the Chairman of the Oyo State Road Maintenance Agency (OYSROMA), on Friday in Ibadan.
Ogunlade stressed that the initiative aligns with the Seyi Makinde-led administration’s commitment to making the state more attractive to both local and foreign investors.
“Governor Seyi Makinde has given us the mandate to rehabilitate roads across the state, and we have mobilized our men to these sites,” he said.
He further explained that to ensure the project addresses critical needs, the governor directed stakeholders to submit lists of priority roads requiring immediate attention in their areas.
Hon. Ogunlade disclosed that rehabilitation work has already kicked off on some roads and work is about to kick off on the remaining roads soon.
He advised road users to adhere to temporary traffic diversions and cooperate with the ongoing construction efforts.
