The Edo State Police Command has launched an investigation into the death of Comrade Kaduna Eboigbodin, the former Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) in Edo State. Eboigbodin allegedly died after an argument with police officers in Benin City on Monday.

According to reports, the incident occurred when Eboigbodin was driving with his wife and was stopped by police officers at a checkpoint. The officers demanded his vehicle particulars, which he provided, but a discrepancy in the documents led to a heated argument.

The police allegedly accused Eboigbodin of driving a stolen vehicle, which he denied. The situation escalated, and Eboigbodin slumped and died on the way to the hospital.

The Edo State Police Command has expressed concern over the incident and has directed an immediate investigation. The Commissioner of Police, CP Umoru P. Ozigi, has commiserated with Eboigbodin's family and promised to ensure justice prevails.
