Google’s Gemini Sees the World—Leaving Apple Intelligence Behind

Google has taken the lead in the AI race, rolling out new features that give its Gemini assistant the power to “see” the world around it.

The company has officially started introducing camera and screen-sharing capabilities powered by Project Astra. These features allow users to point their phone’s camera at objects or share their screen, letting Gemini provide real-time feedback, much like Google Lens. Whether it’s identifying items in a store, helping with home projects, or guiding users through tasks, Gemini offers a more interactive experience.

While Apple Intelligence does have a “Visual Intelligence” feature, it remains limited in functionality. Unlike Gemini, Apple’s AI cannot hold detailed conversations about what it sees, making Google’s latest update a game-changer in mobile AI.

The rollout is currently available to users subscribed to Gemini Advanced and the Google One AI Premium plan. Though not yet widespread, some users including those on non-Google phones have already started accessing the new features.

As Apple delays key AI features, Google is proving its dominance by bringing practical, real-world AI tools to users faster. Keep an eye on your Pixel or Samsung device. Gemini’s vision capabilities could be arriving soon.
