President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of Deputy Controller-General (DCG) Adeyemi Olumode as the new Controller-General of the Federal Fire Service (FFS).
The announcement was made on Wednesday by retired Major-General Abdulmalik Jubril, Secretary of the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB).
The appointment is effective August 14, 2025, and follows the retirement of the current Controller-General, Abdulganiyu Jaji, who will attain the mandatory retirement age of 60 on August 13, 2025.
Olumode brings extensive experience to his new role, having served in various capacities within the FFS, including as Deputy Controller-General in the Human Resource Directorate.
He has completed all required in-service training programs and command courses both within and outside Nigeria.
He is also a member of several professional associations, including the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN), the Institute of Corporate Administration of Nigeria, the Institute of Public Administration of Nigeria, and the Chartered Institute of Treasury Management of Nigeria.
