Telegram Expands Crypto Wallet with Trading and Yield Features
Telegram is diving deeper into crypto with new trading and yield features for its 100 million+ wallet users. The self-custodial Telegram Wallet, built on the TON blockchain, now supports Bitcoin, USDT on TON, and Notcoin, in addition to Toncoin (TON).
With this update, users can buy, sell, and hold crypto directly within Telegram—eliminating the need for complex on-chain transactions, making crypto more accessible to newcomers.
A key highlight is the “earn” feature, allowing users to generate yield on their Toncoin holdings. While exact details on returns remain undisclosed, Telegram plans to introduce USDT yield options and a loyalty program for TON holders later this year.
TOP CEO Andrew Rogozov stated, “With this update, Wallet is now a full-fledged crypto platform within Telegram while staying simple and accessible.”
As Telegram continues integrating blockchain solutions, its TON-based ecosystem is rapidly growing, positioning the platform as a major player in mainstream crypto adoption.
