Coal City Film Festival Returns in 2025 with Exciting Lineup

The Coal City Film Festival (CCFF) has announced its 2025 edition, set to take place from March 27-29 in Enugu.

Festival founder and director Uche Agbo expressed enthusiasm about this year’s diverse selection of films, which includes feature films, documentaries, short films, and animations from filmmakers across Nigeria, Africa, and beyond. The films were chosen for their strong storytelling, technical quality, and cultural impact.

With the theme “Homecoming for the Vulture,” the festival will celebrate industry legends while providing mentorship opportunities for emerging filmmakers. Agbo emphasized that CCFF continues to serve as a global platform for showcasing talent, engaging with industry professionals, and promoting African storytelling.

The festival will also feature panel discussions, workshops, networking sessions, and masterclasses led by top professionals. New industry initiatives will be introduced to encourage collaborations and investment in African cinema.

A highlight of the event will be the Coal City Awards, which will honor outstanding achievements in filmmaking, acting, directing, and other key areas.

The full lineup of selected films and the official schedule will be available on the CCFF website and social media.

Since its inception, CCFF has positioned Enugu as a major creative hub, attracting filmmakers and film enthusiasts from around the world. The 2025 edition promises to be one of its most engaging yet, further strengthening Nigeria’s film industry and African cinema as a whole.
