Actress and evangelist Tonto Dikeh in an Instagram video has advised Christian men to avoid using spirituality as a cover for emotional laziness when pursuing Christian women for marriage, Tonto Dikeh urged men to be more intentional and proactive during courtship.
She noted that some men adopt low-effort approaches when trying to win a woman.
According to her, relying completely on spiritual declarations rather than showing genuine effort is totally incorrect.
The mother of one said statements like ‘God told me you are my wife’ should not be used to bypass intentionality and practical pursuit.
She further explained that true courtship requires investment and questioned why some church brothers assume church sisters do not expect gifts or proper wooing.
She explained that using spiritual language as cover for laziness is a misrepresentation of God’s character.
“This is a very funny topic, but it is one that we actually need to discuss. So, if you are a brother in the Lord, come forward; this is for you. Why do church brothers think church sisters don’t require gifts? What about this low-effort thing you put into wooing or pursuing a woman?
“Church brothers would say, ‘God sent me to you,’ and blah, blah. God can send you, but using spiritual language to mask emotional laziness is a distortion of God’s character. Saying, ‘God told me you are my wife,’ is not an excuse to bypass intentionality and practical effort; true pursuit requires investment,” she said.
